Solas was appointed to deliver an LED lighting upgrade for the Berkeley Group’s head office, replacing outdated ceiling fittings with modern, high-efficiency panels. The project aimed to improve lighting quality, reduce running costs, and demonstrate the performance of Solas’s advanced LED technology in a high-profile commercial environment.
The Client & Challenge
The Berkeley Group is one of the UK’s leading developers of homes and mixed-use communities, known for its focus on quality, design, and sustainability.
The client’s existing office lighting had become inefficient and produced uneven illumination that made workspaces appear dull and enclosed. Berkeley sought to trial Solas’s LED panel solution to assess its impact on both energy use and the working environment before considering wider adoption.
The Solas Solution
Solas designed and installed a small-scale pilot scheme featuring six high-performance LED ceiling panels to replace the previous fluorescent fittings. The new panels delivered a clean, natural white light that improved both visibility and aesthetics. The luminaires were chosen for their energy efficiency, long lifespan, and ability to replicate daylight-like illumination – enhancing visual comfort and creating a brighter, more welcoming workspace.
Project Delivery
The installation was completed quickly and with minimal disruption to office operations. All fittings were tested and commissioned to ensure performance met the client’s expectations.
